Turn 10 värvar talang från Rockstar, EA och Ubisoft

Om Forza-serien skulle fortsätta som vanligt med årliga utgåvor där Motorsport och Horizon turas om vartannat år, hade vi kunnat se fram emot Forza Motorsport 8 till hösten. Men sådana rykten saknas och varken Microsoft eller Turn 10 har antytt att det är på gång.

Det verkar kort sagt som att Forza kanske tar en paus i år och när det väl kommer tillbaka, ska det blir större och bättre än någonsin. Det är Full Throttle Media som rapporterar att Turn 10 vuxit rejält senaste tiden och värvat toppfolk som bland annat jobbat på titlar som Grand Theft Auto V, Star Wars Battlefront II och Assassin's Creed. Turn 10:s art director Scott Lee berättar:

"Right now, our team is bigger than it's ever been in our history, and again, we've gotten a lot of support from the studio to build the kind of team that we need to make this ambitious project - and I'm going to do some name dropping. Just on my art team alone we have veterans and leads from Grand Theft Auto V, Red Dead 2, Assassin's Creed, Madden, Battlefront 2."​

Dessa nykomlingar har kunnat bidra med en hel del hos Turn 10, trots att de flesta av dem inte jobbat på bilspel tidigare:

"You can imagine what they bring with them, and it's not just their technical expertise, but they have more efficient work flows - they've done this before. They hated doing it this way and they'd like to fix it, and they're bringing great practices with them, they're bringing their creativity with them, and they're bringing their very strong opinions as Forza fans with them - which I love. I came in to the studio a couple years ago as a fan of the game, never having worked on a racing game. But knowing what I really, really wanted from the game, and I feel like we need that. Our development process is kind of coming from a fan's perspective as well, which is I think a really cool thing."​

När nästa Forza-spel utannonseras, återstår att se. Det kan bli på E3 nästa månad, men det verkar heller inte helt osannolikt att det är något Microsoft sparar till nästa Xbox-konsol, vilken allmänt tros komma under 2020. Låter allt detta bra, tycker du?
